In 1907, E. K. Parks was called as Pastor and under his leadership a new church building was constructed on Harvard Avenue. Pastor Parks served Friendship as minister until 1908. From 1908 until 1914, Pastors R. B. Gresham, R. R. Smith and P. L. Dorsey were the spiritual leaders of the congregation.

In 1914, Pastor Money Lowe was called as minister. William Bell, H. B. Sain and Benjamin J. Johnson, Sr. served as Pastors through 1926. In 1927, W. G. Thomas was called as Pastor. He served until 1930. Under his leadership the church building was reconstructed in 1929. H. T. Thomas was called as pastor in 1930 and served until 1932. C. A. Moore served as pastor from 1932 to 1940. Friendship was without a minister from 1940 until 1941.

In 1941, J. R. Lovett was called as pastor. During his eleven years of service, a second unit was added to the building that housed a kitchen, and dining room, a furnace and church office with stained glass windows. New pews, pulpit furniture and a sound system with speakers were also purchased. There was a baptismal pool built inside the church. Under Pastor Lovett, Friendship purchased property for church parking. Pastor Lovett served Friendship until 1952.

In 1953, J. H. Lockett was called to Pastor Friendship. Worship services were held on the second and fourth Sundays. Minister E.H. Walker led worship services on first Sundays. Pastor Lockett led in the construction of the Harvard Avenue edifice that began in July 1972 and was completed in February 1973. Five houses were purchased, along with a new organ, piano and new pews. Pastor Lockett served the Friendship Community Church until his death in May of 1973. Dwight M. Jackson succeeded him in January 1974.

Pastor Jackson extended Sunday worship services to include third and fifth Sundays. He served Friendship until April 1977. In July 1977, Dr. Charles J. Sargent was called as Pastor. Between 1977 and 1980, the mortgage of the Church was burned. Stained glass windows were installed. Adjacent land near the church was purchased for additional parking and a fifteen-passenger bus was purchased. The church continued its remarkable growth in 1982 with the expansion of its worship services to include the 8:30 a.m. service. Dr. Sargent established the Christian Education Ministry, the 8:15 a.m. worship service and other community based ministries. Pastor Sargent retired as pastor in 1991.

On September 4, 1991, Donald Earl Bryant, Sr. was called as Pastor. Pastor Bryant had served as assistant to Pastor Sargent.
In May 1992, the church purchased 66 acres of land to build a new edifice at 4141 Old Fairburn Road. A bond program was instituted.

On October 19, 1997, the Friendship family conducted Sanctuary Closing Service on Harvard Avenue, followed by a 6.5-mile motorcade to 4141 Old Fairburn Road, College Park, Georgia.

Friendship received 501-C3 exempt status July 12, 2000 and the property on Harvard Avenue was sold. Construction of Phase II (Educational Building) of the Building Ministry began.The building, The Charles J. Sargent Educational Building, was completed and dedicated February 23, 2003. Construction of Phase III (Family Life Center), the Donald Earl Bryant Family Life Center was completed and dedicated February 25, 2007.

On August 15, 2011, the bonds that were purchased to build the new sanctuary were paid in full. Phases II and III were built debt-free.

Dr. Torin T. Dailey became the current pastor in February 2020. Pastor Bryant became Pastor Emeritus.

The Theatre, a multi-purpose facility for children and youth, was completed in 2020 and dedicated on May 29, 2022.
